Your wireless connection is as insecure as you let it be, and as subject to attack as any other Internet connected computer. Standard wireless security mechanisms have numerous deficiencies and incompatibilities.
For important data transfers, such as e-commerce transactions and accessing remote computers, you should only communicate over your wireless connection with secure servers that use strong encryption mechanisms such as SSL and/or SSH.
That is your responsibility, and just as with any Internet service provider, if you do not use known secure mechanisms to transfer your data, you run the risk of having that data read and abused. |
